Kerosene/Paraffin/Avgas is Fuel Oil #1, Diesel is Fuel Oil #2. Kerosene/et
al doesn't have the necessary lubricity additives to protect the engine. By
adding a little (non multigrade) oil to each tank you can run a diesel on
Kerosene/et al without causing to much damage.
