not a drain plug.
It's what would be the filler, on top of the radiator, if it wasn't for the
overflow. Look in and you'll see it right there on top. Land Rover changed
all of theirs for a black plastic thing many years ago. the one on my 1983
110 was plastic.
I threw it away and stuck a Ser3 brass one in 'cos I didn't trust it.
Sure enough, I've heard of a few letting go with a bang.
One Land Rover specialist I know changes them for new at every service.
My friend had the other one go on his Discovery. Needed a rebuild. I don't
know exactly where it is, he said on the top of the engine. It's the same
size and material. I'll have a look under his bonnet on Saturday and try to
describe it better.
I have heard of some UK people finding a generic brass plug (it's screw in)
at a plumbing merchant and doing as I did, just throwing the plastic thing
away.
