Does a Range Rover have a hyphen? I just went out and
    looked on my Rangie.

Actually, the hyphen is still there - look on the marque
badges. That good old lightning bolt between the words...

So, they ALL have the hyphen!

As an amusing aside, I had a look at the shots I took of
YVB - and the serial number plate on it says NOTHING about
    Land Rover at all.

    It says:

"Manufactured by The Rover Co. Ltd. Solihull England. Range
    Rover"

Below that is a spot for the chassis number, and below it
the GVW and max front and rear axle loading weights.

Seems like there was some thought there of divorcing the RR
    from land-Rover completely, perhaps?

I am curious, though, as to exactly when the hyphen went
away in the name. My manuals dated 69-70 (last century,
that is) still reflect the hyphen, so it must have been
    after that.

Wonder if it was from the launch of the Rangie?

Lastly, the site I was thinking of for the MG cars was this
    one:

      www.british-cars.org.uk/kimber/

It's British-owned but there's a lot of US activity there.
I've bought and sold more than one part from there.
