    Though some Shermans did have the radial engine, think it was not the
    standard engine. Think the radial was in the ones designed for wading at
    Normandy. Don't know what the standard engine was though it was gasoline
    and prone to barbecuing its crew.

    How did the Israelis modify the Sherman?? They supposedly modified them so
    they were quite a good tank. They used them at least into the 70's, I think
    because of these mod's.
