My guess is that like so many of us, J-L has more time and energy to
spend than money. He has the ingenuity and most of the facilities to do the
work as well as enjoys the process. Too, he is no different than anyone
else that leans toward the impractical because it seems cheaper in the short
run. If J-L didn't obviously love to tinker I would say it was a silly
idea, but he DOES love it. Many times I personally have spent more money
doing something the hard way... but always having come away wiser.
