So I got the head off and it had sucked a valve into the piston closest
to the firewall. This is indeed a testament to how important it is to
keep those valves adjusted properly; this engine only had 69,000 miles.
    So let the teardown begin!
I went and looked at my '60 88" (for comparison) to see if it sucked a
valve as well but it had not. The head was already off and missing when
I got her so it was easy to inspect........I suspect this one had tranny
troubles since the floorboard is all torn apart and the inspection cover
is off the gearbox. Thanks for any and all suggestions.
