I want to spend time and money rebuilding a different 109. I am in the middle of frame over ande I need time and money) This is a 1967 which has about 60-70K original miles. To get it driveable, I need to replace front brakes and cylinders, Clutch flex hose, bled systems, tune engine and replace exhaust (all in process at this moment). At that point it will be driveable. The frame is pretty darn good but it needs new rear member. The kickboards should be replaced as well. My question is this. If I was going to keep this rover, I would do a complete rebuild from bottom to top. That is just the way I am. However, this could be a good running rover with some simple repairs as described above. I want to sell this sweetheart and let someone have a very nice project car and be able to drive it out of my barn and I want to maximize the deal for us both. What would you do to prepare this car for sale? A) Don't sell it. DO a complete frame over.Wrong Answer, Want to buy a Turner Engine and Walking horse. B) Sell it today jacked up in the middle of a brake job. (This is wrong answer, just testing your honesty and integrity. C) Finish brake, exhaust and clutch job and sell as is and let owner decide what to do about rear frame member and firewall repairs. D) Do the above plus rear frame member and piut in replacement kickboards and functional firewall repairs. E) Forget about it and let is sit in my barn for eternity. Subject: BFG M/T's / Dunlop Radial Mud Rover Date: Sat, 21 Feb 98 14:58:51 -0000 From: rogers <rogers@batnet.com> Hello all. Anyone out there have a great source for BFG Mud Terrains? Apparently, the labor strikes in the BFG manufacturing plants and Michelin's purchase of BFG has put the M/T's in short supply, especially the 255/85R16's I'm looking for. I anyone can think of a store that might have these in stock or in their distribution pipe, please let me know. My understanding is that these tires are on national backorder from Michelin and that they're not even scheduled for production for another two months. Also, does anyone have alternate tire suggestions for a D90 with an OME lift and SG drop kit? I'm considering Dunlop's Radial Mud Rover, but I >have to believe that there is a better product out there. Any Suggestions? It all depends on how much your 90 will be in the mud, realistically. I went throught this whole process just recently, I must have looked at www.tirerack.com 20 times; looking at costs, tire heights, treads, etc. I too wanted M/Ts. I saw SG's demo 110 pix with the 33 inch M/Ts and dreamed about them for about two minutes before I realized that even the mud in the everglades I sometimes get into wasn't enough to justify them. I would have liked to have a set of SG's XCLs as well. Bottom line, end-result of the whole debate: I eventually got some BFG TracEdges, based on the overwhelmingly positive reaction on them from this list. The ones I got were as tall as the 7.50R16s but just a wee bit wider. Had 'em put on last week and love 'em. They've got the M/T pattern, without the noise. I like them better than the A/T's too. Now that I have them, I think I will order some new wheels and put strictly off road tires on those. I'm waiting to see what Yokohama's M/T competitor will look like. pat 93 "re-shod" 110 ps: the reason I didn't consider the Dunlop RMR was the purely personal opinion that I think it looks funny to have a tire with your car's name on it under your car: ie, a Land Rover with "Mud Rover" tires or a Jeep Wrangler with "goodyear Wrangler" tires... ------------------------------[ <- Message 20 -> end | Table of Contents | <- Digest 980222 -> Archive Index | <- Browser -> ]
