Davis has put together. Anyone who has seen or driven the beast will attest to the fact that this thing is scary fast. The problem is in the $$$$. This conversion costs more than most people paid for their rovers. The Volvo thing is a complete mystery. There is a fellow with a conversion for a Volvo B20B that he will sell for a very fair price but the question to be answered is if this "Mystery Diesel" out of the boat is the same block/bolt pattern as the B20B. To make a long story short (besides hunting through junkyards to find an elusive Buick V-8 HEI), it only took about 2.5 hours to make the conversion. The hybrid runs like it has a new engine! From: Solihull@aol.com Date: Sun, 15 Feb 1998 13:59:49 -0500 (EST) Subject: Fuel screen substitute for non FI tanks I just found the part number for the VW fuel pickup screen used in beetles. It is brass and has an aluminum washer attached, so it goes up into the tank. For our purposes, we'd cut off the ring and secure it to the pickup tube and put it down into the tank. PN is 111-209-147a. Cheers!! Date: Sun, 15 Feb 1998 16:43:42 -0500 From: Peter Monk <monk@math.udel.edu> Subject: IIa windscreen wiper motor Hi I am trying to get the windscreen wipers going on my IIa. I took out the motor/gearbox and the motor runs, but the whole the very old grease etc in the gearbox and flexible shaft won't allow it to drive the wipers (I think). Here are the questions: 1) What grease to use on the flixible drive and in the windscreen motor gearbox? The manual suggests "Ragosine Listate 225" grease - what's special about this and is there a readily available (in the US) equivalent? 2) Should I try to lubricate the motor? With what and where? Thanks in advance..... Peter Monk ------------------------------[ <- Message 10 -> end | Table of Contents | <- Digest 980216 -> Archive Index | <- Browser -> ]
