Tres cool!!!! I want to know more about this engine.
It seems to me that various Mercruiser and Volvo marine gasoline engines
are in fact Chevy-GM castings. Anybody know? Putting a volvo mill in your LR
entitles you to the trendy sash across the grill, doesn't it?
Cheers!!

Would you pay $30k for a 94D90 that has been insulated w air, new hard top,
phone, auxillary electrical system, AC power inverter, alarm system, full wrap
around brush bars, lens guards, alloy wheels, 8,000 lb. Warn winch in the
bumper, dash mounted global positioning system w remote antenna, marine grade
compass, etc, etc.? Did I mention that it has no dings, dents, scratches. And
yes; it has been off road many times. In places you could die without reliable
4x4.

The hottest set up in town is the Mercruiser conversion that R. Davis has
put together. Anyone who has seen or driven the beast will attest to the
fact that this thing is scary fast. The problem is in the $$$$. This
conversion costs more than most people paid for their rovers. The Volvo
thing is a complete mystery. There is a fellow with a conversion for a
Volvo B20B that he will sell for a very fair price but the question to be
answered is if this "Mystery Diesel" out of the boat is the same block/bolt
pattern as the B20B. The quest continues....

After having to adjust the points on my V-8 5 times just to drive
from home to the shop, I decided to see if the rumor was true; that a
Buick HEI would fit in a Rover V-8.
To make a long story short (besides hunting through junkyards to
find an elusive Buick V-8 HEI), it only took about 2.5 hours to make the
conversion. The hybrid runs like it has a new engine!
I won't bore the list with details but if anyone wants details I'll
be glad to explain the process step by step.

As I recall, there *was* a Volvo D20, which did use the same kinda casting as
the B20. D for diesel, B for Benzine. (?) I would be interested in a
conversion using the B20 mill, but not for a series II or III. It'd be a
sweet little engine for a series one.

Subject: Fuel screen substitute for non FI tanks

I just found the part number for the VW fuel pickup screen used in beetles.
It is brass and has an aluminum washer attached, so it goes up into the tank.
For our purposes, we'd cut off the ring and secure it to the pickup tube and
put it down into the tank.
PN is 111-209-147a.
Cheers!!

Subject: IIa windscreen wiper motor

Hi
I am trying to get the windscreen wipers going on my IIa. I took out
the motor/gearbox
and the motor runs, but the whole the very old grease etc in the gearbox
and flexible
shaft won't allow it to drive the wipers (I think). Here are the
questions:

1) What grease to use on the flixible drive and in the windscreen motor
gearbox?
The manual suggests "Ragosine Listate 225" grease - what's special about
this
and is there a readily available (in the US) equivalent?

2) Should I try to lubricate the motor? With what and where?

Thanks in advance.....

Peter Monk

Why not go the whole hog and fit the Mallory Dual point distributor. It`s a
straight swap.

I wish I would have read your message before I deleted the name of the guy
selling the adapter for the B20... My friend is going to go the Chevy
route, so why don't you go ahead and do the Volvo motor for yourself. The
person with the volvo adapter is on the list.
good luck

Hi!
Maybe this doesnt sound much at all - but Im really having real
difficulties adjusting the passenger door of my ´66 S2a. I think Ive tried
everything to make it close properly - but the thing just wont close fully!
- I think Im pretty sure it has to be adjusted to sit a bit higher - but
dont seem to be able to tilt the hatches more! - Does anyone know the
ultimate trick of adjustment?

Thanx

Does anyone have any experience with Mallory dual-point distributors on
2.25 petrol engines? I presume that the model sold for MGBs would fit, as
they have a Lucas 25d4 dizzy. I have been impressed by other applications
of these, and since it looks like i need do something to my stock
distributor anyways, I was thinking about this.
