Seeing your lack of line breaks, I think you need a better email
client....;-))
Please consider a good filtering email client like Pegasus/WinPmail,
Eudora or Agent (previous shareware versions Eudora Light and Free
Agent could not filter, current versions can).
By filtering you can select mail on specific keywords in the header,
and drop messages from mailinglists in their own mail folder. The
only mail that remains in your original 'inbox' is the real private
mail (and spam....8-)).
I read dozens of mailinglists, and this would be a nightmare without
filtering. With mailinglists you mostly let it filter on the

Hi all,

I have just bought a half frame for a series III - from the rear
cross-member to the crosmember behind the gearbox - and I plan to weld
it in place tomorrow.

Does anyone have experience of doing this - are tghere any good "tricks"
for getting the angles and distances right? Any words of wisdom welcome.

Whilst writing, I must ask if anyone has experience of rear wheel bolts
which are rusted solid - I have one rear wheel on this donor-truck which
is unable to be loosened with any tool which i have - again - helpful
words of advice welcome.

cheers!

Don't try to twist them loose, as you'll more'n likely end up spinning
them in place. Rather, use an angle grinder or sawzall to cut through the
nut and bolt. Cheaper to replace than a new drum. Once they're out of the
way, there's a small matter of some rusted drum screws....

Hello Adrian

You asked about experience with solid rusted bolts.
The normal procedure applies, soaking in wd 40, heating of the bolt,
cooling of the threaded peace, applying hudge wrench, give the bolts
a whack with a hammer etc.

To break the rust 'weld' I do use the next trick. Get an old spanner
of the correct size and saw ,or grind of the handle so short that
only a 7 cm long peace of it is left on. Place this piece of
equipment on the bold avoiding any play and, after all the soaking,
heating etc. procedures it should come of when you hit it with a
large hammer.
The difference with just hammering at the end of a full size spanner
is that the inertia of the tool is much smaller, and the short
hammered handle won't bend. So the force exerted on the bold will be
much larger.

When using a full size spanner and hammering near the bolt, the peace
of the handle beyond will act as a break and you can't apply the same
force.

If this won't work, you can always take Bill's advice.

cheers!

Mail reader used is Chameleon. It also has mail filtering and yes I do have it filtering the mail into different folders based upon keywords, suject matter etc... Of course then you have to setup a new folder for evey new subject discused. It's still not as easy as a proper news reader.

The Chameleon package sends out text without line breaks and relies upon your reader to format the lines to suite your window size (a bit like Word sending out documents with no line breaks). With Chameleon reader you can set it to either automatically put line feeds or leave them out on incoming mail.

It seems that most readers do not want the facilities of a newsgroup so I won't mention it anymore. I shall limit my postings to important things like why does my LtWt have a load rattle near the front bullhead/transmission tunnel when I go over bumps? I have been underneath and looked all around and I can't find anything loose... Engine/gearbox mountings are all brand new. I can't find any loose brackets etc... I'm startign to wonder if the rattle is actually in the clutch housing!!

Cheers for now
