One rust preventative that's popular over here is Fisholac. It's a substance based on fish oil that soaks into rust and dries like a lacquer which can be painted over. I've been using it on my repaired door frames. It does have one drawback. Being made of fish oil, it smells a bit fishy. I've been using the deodourised stuff, and well if this is deodourised then the normal stuff must really pong. Its not too bad in a well ventilated vechicles like the Landy but I sprayed it inside the door of a mate's Mini I repaired and he complained of having to drive with the windows open for three months. Apparently it was interesting after the car had been parked in the sun for a while. The neighbourhood cats sure do start taking an interest in your Landy though! From: Chuque Henry <ChuqueH@isco.com> Subject: Win95 Icons and Cursors Date: Wed, 25 Jun 1997 10:48:46 -0500 I made up a bunch of these for my friends on the Lotus List and thought I couldn't be any less faithful to my other marquee. I made up a LR badge icon and a Series III icon (these work great as 'My Computer' and 'Network Neighborhood') and I also made up an animated spinning LR badge cursor to use as 'Wait'. I plan on making a 'Working in Background' animated cursor when I find the time. These aren't the greatest, but they are kind of fun and add a little Rover to your desktop. Just e-mail me if you want me to send them to you. I can also change icons (like change Landy color or move headlamps) if you would like, or do a request when I find time. Eventually I ended up making every Lotus model, MG's, Spitfires.... and quite a few animation's... so let me know if there is something you would really like to see. I'll send you anything you want. Turning the mixture screw in or out seems to make no difference. A little history: I have a rebuilt 2.25 petrol, 8:1 lead-free head, all new ancillaries. It has been on the road since May 3, and runs well enough, but the idle is smoky (black) and the tailpipe black. A few days after I got it back on the road, it quit on me. Investigation revealed that the needle valve in the new carb was stuck shut. I freed it, and there has been no repeat of that problem. Now that I have finally had time to try to sort out the rich running problem, I find that I can't get a proper idle. Looking into the carburetor throat, I can see fuel dribbling from the orifice at the center of the throat. (I think it would be appropriate to call this the "uvula.") I snooped around inside the carb and found the float height to be somewhat higher than the 1 5/16 specified in my aftermarket manual, so I adjusted to spec. (I don't have much faith in the manual, as I found it in error on the clutch linkage specification.) I also checked for foreign matter at the needle valve (thought it might be related to the previous stalling problem), but all seems in good order. Am I missing something obvious (or otherwise)?
