Someone gave me the June 1996 copy of Thoroughbred & Classic Cars and it has
a bit about buying Series I LRs. Nice Buyer Checklist 2-page spread. Also a
bit on old RRs as well as buying British vehicles in the US. Small pic of
"Peter Petrov's 27,000 mile pick-up" a nice looking IIa(? hard to tell) 109.

In light of all the LROI/LRW stuff that went on, it is nice to see a magazine
do justice and show due respect to the marque.

Many publications could try to do half as good as this one.

Subject: NAS 110s exUSA

There's at least one NAS110 here in the Philippines, and I know of four in
Haiti. So I guess that makes 1% that aren't going to be on the
SOLAROS/Sinasohn web registry. Now I'm really curious as to the actual number
remaining and where they going.

Now, these rovers have been registered in their respective countries; does
that mean they can't go back to the US with a future owner?

The only reason I ask is that when american planes are brought here and
registered locally (RP-C ####) they "lose" their N# and go through hell three
times to get it back.

p.s. if anyone replies, kindly cc: spyders@aol.com as I'm not currently on
the list. * I wonder if a NAS 110 is eligible for one of the Heritage
Museums or that LR trust in the UK? It certainly is a variant, though not a
one-off.

Subject: The AW blues

Happy Holidays to all!

Am I the only poor slob who hasn't received the AW yet???

Most of the left coasters I know are sitting around their little fireplaces,
drinking hot chocolate out of their RN mugs, trying out their new Christmas
or Chanakah spanners, and reading all the
delightfull articles in the new AW.

Ms Daisy, that lazy wanker, is apparently choking on a rod, so I can't even
take her out and play in the snow. Anyone have a spare AW I can borrow for
a while???

BTW, for all of you in warmer climes, it's a beautiful Christmas day here in
Spokane. Temperature in the mid-20's (F), and very sunny. We have over a
foot of snow on the ground. Every time the wind blows, great clouds of
white descend from the pines. A great day for skiing, snow-shoeing,
sledding, and drinking warm toddies.

No, I didn't get one either! And Pansy (25902676) is *still* down for the
engine rebuild. Good thing I've had others rovers to use this year! Strictly
test driving after repairs, you understand!!
I haven't received one AW since the last time I sent in twenty bucks, and
they tell me I've been dropped from the list. This is aggravating.
Merry Christmas, everybody!

I got one D90 on the registry that's in Japan, but it's definately an
NAS model. It was shipped and delivered to Japan by LRNA and had the
US-style limited plaque. The Philippines ones might be the same. If
you get a chance to look at one, get the VIN and see if there's a
plaque and we'll see what they did...

Help! I'm too far away from the nearest source of LRW magazine. Can someone
who normally gets it from a Barnes & Oble in the US please e-mail me
direct... I need a favor. Will reimburse cost + postage (to FL).

I have the one with the breasts. Need to see what next month's brings. (Are
views being lowered with standards?) Does anyone know when the ROAV meet gets
written up?

I think I know the foam you are thinking about. It is probably sort of
plastic with lots of air bubbles that makes it very soft. I have seen it
used to line aluminum canoes and other water craft. It would be
wonderful since I don't think it stays wet very long. The stuff I was
talking about was carpet. I picked on the old Pinto because the
hatchback was so wide it had carpet that covered the whole back tub of
the Landy and a second one cut up covered the seat boxes. My interior
looks custom. It used carpet cement to attach it to the seat box. It
goes well with the black leather interior and the black steering wheel
cover that I use. Dave VE4PN

No one in Canada has ordered one. However, I have mailed out at least 20
and only one was slightly damaged...but reapirable, as the chap had a brake.
I send them UPS ground, and I'll check on the price to you if you'll send
the postcode. Mind you, yours is going to have a "c" in a circle in one corner.
;-) Cheers

Whilst taking a friend to the Norfolk airport, I saw a primo, red IIa 88 in
the long term lot. New seats, Brownchurch roof rack/ladder, NO rust
(Arizona plates). Does this belong to anyone on the list? Cheers
