Its in the eye of the beholder....For m its an investment, and a way of
life, (I'd rather push a Land Rover than drive a Jeep). If you have a
110 and you find someone whom is a roverhead, then you could get $30 -
$40K for it, The RAV 4 crowd wouldn't look twice.

Know what I mean?

Last week I finaly got my beast APK (kind of MOT) approved so she is
street legal now. I was in a bit of a hurry since, starting the first
of januari, they will change the emission rules for diesels and I
would be in great trouble getting her approved.
So now I have a year to stop the diesel smoking.

To get her APK approved I had to do the following

    Replace the steering joints(4x).

Replace all the bushes of the suspension.(A lot of work, at the
end you finally know what the best trick is to get them out and
    back in.

    Repair horn.

    Repair wiper/washer and sprinkler.

    Some welding on the frame.

    Replace outrigger on the left.

    Repair brake lights.

    Engrave chassis no.

    Change headlight mirrors.

Some minor adjustment on parking brake.

    Replace exaust.

Kosts were aprox. 420 Us $. and I was able to handle this work
myself. So no labour kosts so far.

Regards,
Keep Rovering

Mike,

I see no problems with your posting on the Toys. As many have said already,
as long as its short, in "good taste" (whatever that may be), and not on a
recurring basis - I don't have a problem.

Same goes for LRW, Jim Allen, whoever EXCEPT KRAZY KEV!!!!.

FWIW,

did you tell him about the "net" where over 1000 people "virtually"
congregate on a daily basis to compare notes?!

I would like to take exception to the criticism of Mike Smith's
"advertising" toys on the internet. I, for one, appreciate his
willingness to share a simple little item that some of us would love
to know about, but probably would never hear about such things other
than from an enthusiast. I think common sense should tell us that this
is not a commercial venture for Mike or for other people who put
small, little advertisemrnts in the Net. I believe Mike's motivation
to do this is certainly not monetary ($20 a piece. . .please!) but
rather his desire to share something that many of us would like to
know about. I further would have no objections to other Rover
enthusiasts advertising some unusual items for sale that we ordinarily
would never know about. I also would love to see, on a routine basis,
a section just devoted to Rover items for sale. It would be sort of a
neighborhood garage sale, which I always enjoy.

Let's back off criticizing Mike Smith for doing what I perceive to be
a neighborly thing.

Mike, anytime you have an unusual Rover item for sale, I--for one --
would love to know about it.
