Well, it is possible to pull the starter from a II/IIA/III without undoing the exhaust, but it isn't necessarily an easy task. It might go in a minute or so, it might take hours. When you do get it in or out, you probably won't know how yyou did it either. (Start by turning the wheels hard to the right so the steering arm is all the way forward) Change the bolt? The pieces are perfect. The outdside mounting brackets are bent to fit the wind screen frame and all the mounting holes are slots. Everything fits well and went together great. Cheers to Sandy Grice and ROAV. BTW, Sandy told me to use rivnuts to install the mounting brackets and I was able to find Stanley Nut inserts at Orchard supply hardware. Drill 9/32" hole, insert nutsert, tighten with provided tool. The nut is now installed and ready for use. I used all stainless hardware, including lock washers. I also bought some very good, black silicon sealant from a local hardware store. It is advertised as 50 year sealant and in my mind is just about perfect. It DOESN'T have the strong acetic acid smell. It isn't as sticky to everything like other sealants and when cured, it is very, very easily removed. I used a good sized blob of silicon on top of the nutsert and around the nutsert, the put on the mounting bracket and screwed in the screw. PS. I like the shine and may not paint it. jfhess@wheel.dcn.davis.ca.us from home via modem Land- -Rover, Sunbeam Tiger and Mazda owner! ------------------------------[ <- Message 8 -> end | Table of Contents | <- Digest 960715 -> Archive Index | <- Browser -> ]

WD-40 is petroleum based and will break down the rubber. You can get silicone in a spray can with a little tube to focus the spray, or in a bottle as used for silicone brake fluid. It keeps the rubber clean, pliant, virile and shiny. One of this friends has a little Problem with his injector Pump (2,25 l 3 bearing diesel engine). The engine-stop pulley at the pump is broken and diesel is leaking out the pully seal. one of the engine-stop parts in the pump is broken and need replace. (the engine is still running, the only problem is to stop :) ) (He also wants to sell his 88 in 1966 petrol an will buy a 101 monster) So we need a drawing from the injector Pump (CAV) and the parts inside. The second problem are the Brakes at my vehicle. It is one of this high modern splittet Brakesystem with failure switch. After my car rebuild (of the chassis) an a little bit adujusting, i have now the Problem (after a few weeks) that I had to push the brake-pedal 2 to 3 time to get good deceleration. There is no air in the system and i had replaced many parts including brake liners. I think that die brake drumms are to wide and i had to move the liners in the first push to the drumm and then the second push will brake. But I adjusted the brakes very hard.
