Since we were moving so quickly, we decided to take a side trip to the New York Mountains to see some mines. Ben claimed to known of some interesting trails there.

    • Sometimes the trail got rocky. [BS]
    • And sometimes it just going up. ("It's this way, honest...I think"-Ben) [BS]
    • (At one of the mines, Rick decide that he wanted to try to get up a really steep part) With both diffs locked, Rick starts into a D90-wide creek bed. [LK,JH]

    • Another view of the same.[BS]
    • One of Ricks attempts. Note the wheel spin. [BS]
    • Here Gerry airs Ricks tires down in an attempt to get more traction.[RL]

    • Rick gets good and stuck on a rock. (Despite the extreme angle the Rover V8 was happily idling with good oil pressure) [BS]
    • Ben attempts to remove the rock jammed between Rick's frame, axle and ground. [LK,JH]
    • Camp in the New York Mountains. The rock shell of a miner's hut is in the background. [JB].
