Some series folk inferred that what's good for CV joints is also good
for 'U' joints even though the lub'ed spaces have tighter clearances.
Even though the tolerances may be tighter the per unit pressures, in the
Hooke,s joint with its multiple needle rollers, are lower.
If one looks at any bearing catalogue it becomes clear that grease
lubrication is acceptable for all low speed bearings but requires some
derating of the bearings capacity or reduced life.
Since the swivel joint drive bearings are quite well overated for normal
Land Rover loads the use of grease shouldn't present any great problems.
