there is no drain petcock or plug in it. What a PITA. You have to remove
the hose to drain it.
A sign of cheapening times at Land Rover is (was) the fact that the Range
Rover radiator, at least circa early 1990s, has no drain plug. The service
manual procedure for draining the radiator is to disconnect the lower
radiator hose. Of course the coolant hits various chassis components on
the way out, so it splashes around and makes a big mess. This is real
annoying as it's important with an aluminum engine to change the coolant at
least once a year if not twice. I finally started using a long length of
plastic tubing to siphon the coolant out of the radiator. You can do this
with a Range Rover radiator because it's a side-tank radiator, not a
top-tank radiator like the Series. So it's possible to feed the plastic
tube all the way down to the bottom of the radiator. Much less messy than
the "recommended" method.
