Todd et al,
Ah yes the fuel pump on the Euro 6. This was the first adventure I had with
Mehetabel. Less than 5 miles from the seller the pump packed up (they must
not like crossing the pond :) ). He did not have one in his stock (he is a
dealer) because it is a 6 but he put me and my mechanic up for the night,
called the UK the next morning and walked into the FLAPS (Favorite Local
Auto Parts Store) and bought one that has worked like a charm for three
years now (she was "born" sometime between April Fools Day and Mayday :) ).
We put the new one in and it fired right up, she quickly died for other
reasons but the pump now worked.
From the diagrams I have seen the pump looks authentic. I would try the
"alternate parts list" from OVLR that contains just about every electrical
component you can think of or I have been told that all the parts are the
same as MG something (Midget?). I have had good luck taking the "old" part
into NAPA (they seem to hire "good ol boys" who can idetify or match
anything whereas the other FLAPS do not) and say "I need one like this" and
they get you one :).
As to the tyre pressure in the other truck, could it just be the altitude
change?
BTW welcome to the wonderful world of Land Rover ownership.
Cheers
John, Mehetabel, & Priscilla
