I've run through bonnet-deep snow with chains on all four corners, and the
Rover is truly amazing, but it very much depends upon the moisture of the
snow. No problems with extremely dry, powder snow, but in wet snow,
anything deeper than axle-depth will stop you eventually. I've been stuck
in the middle of a city street a block from my downtown office with chains
all around but the wheels lifted clear of the surface by built-up snow.
Let me tell you, when you have chains on all four and you are stuck, you
are *stuck*!
Mike McCaig reported that during a big dump in Buckingham Co., VA, a while
back he went out to "save" the neighborhood with his plow. Snow was so
fine and dry that it flowed over the blade and *through* the radiator. He
stalled out, and when he popped the bonnet found the engine to be
completely hidden by stuffed, hardened snow.
Y'all have fun out there....
