I agree. But the 300 TDI just isn't all that of a motor.
It just doesn't do anything when the turbo isn't "on" or spooled up.
When you have a loaded vehicle, it can be a bit gutless. That's just my
feeling for it, having two of them in the family (one in roofless 90 where
it does ok and one in a 110 SW where it occasionally does ok). The TDI LRs
in our family underperform when compared to the 3.9 EFI in my 110 and the
FJ100 Turbo Diesel of my mom.
