OK I do love those shiny bits. Just open the TR3A's bonnet and you
will see my obsession; a polished aluminum valve cover with polished
aluminum Moon eyes breather, Polished aluminum intake manifolds between
the 45DCOE Webers and the head, polished aluminum levers on the carb
linkage, polished aluminum pulley on the water pump, polished aluminum
thermostat housing, polished brass radiator top tank, polished
stainless steel brake lines, even some polished stainless steel bolts,
washers & nuts.
So yes I just love the subdued luster of polished aluminum along with
the shine of stainless when used in moderation as an accent to the
basic body colour (signal red). But I do feel that chrome under the
bonnet or anyplace else in the drive train is just too garish.
