Yeah! the name is from the door verbage. Granny (granville, he should be on teh list still...hmmm) gave it the monniker due to it's looks and the wording on the door. if ou look at the right door, ou can see where it had been wiped down with solvent to remove not just the wording, but teh paint. there are also a couple other marks on it on front/back. We wondered if it had really been in africa, say on a University of California sponsored trip or something. but my best guess it it was used for a movie....filmed in so california....

If someone could determine what movie it was in, with photos, I'll gove a six-pack of guiness!(I think Stirling would match it too!) so guys start watching old safari movies, and let us know! ;-)

and Stirling, if you ever change teh name you will be reward with a disgruntled landy! ;-)
but if kept the sa,e she should happily continue as always starting on first turn of the hand crank or key! (more than I can say for Elgie with the mercruiser lump if ignored for a while...
Possibly also from removing the top if you are not carefull in storing it so the inside stays clean(wrap it all up in a tarp and all will be fine. I once did not, and paid teh consequences on another rover)

    Paul

She got her name from the driver's side door. Here's
    a picture:

I don't know who named her that, but maybe if Paul is
listening.... he might be able to shed some light. I
know the two PO's called her that at least. I didn't
want to change her name, otherwise she might not start
when I ask her to. :) Cheers, Stirling.
