Hi'all
I'm on the cusp of trying to start the '54 2.0 liter engine. It's been
sitting 5 years; Someone check my math:
New: electric fuel pump, fuel filter, points, plugs, wires, cap, rotor,
condenser (but not coil)
Changed oil, but not filter (don't ask)
Carb is old Solex - dry inside, not visible gunky - float valve moves
freely. Truck had oil bath connected the whole time.
Radiator seems happy - nice green stuff inside, no sign of oil in water or
vice versa.
Engine turns by hand and starter. Petrol tank is full of rust and scale, so
I'll be drawing from a jerry can. I plan to turn engine over several times
w/o coil connected to generate some lubrication.
