The Series 2a's were a mix of SAE and BS fasteners
with SAE being the preponderant size, however. The
transmission was where BS sizes were mostly used.
There were also a few really weird fasteners that were
neither metric, BS or SAE like the fasteners holding
the speedometer cable into the transfer case.
Starting with the Series 3, more and more fasteners
became metric. Believe the 90 and 110's were all
metric. So I guess Britain went metric sometime after
    '72 and before '84.
