Unfortunately, they will be using a rover diff which is inherently weak due
to its spiral bevel design. Nodular iron casting, and an aftermarket carrier
(ARB, Detroit) stiffens the diff up quite a bit, but it just doesn't have
the gear teeth mesh area of the hypoid gear setup of the Dana 60 (salisbury)
or Eaton. Both diffs will have to be hypoid.

Since I am using RR axles and need the width, I'll probably try and stay
away from series axles. I am pretty sure that a hybrid 101FC/coiler brake
axle will be the only way to go, however it means a regear and a lot of
modifications. It seems like the only alternative to a D60 conversion with 8
    bolt wheels.

Actually, there is nothing new of a 35 spline Dana 60. They are very common,
however with a 1.5" shaft diam, not 1.24". I believe the spindles are too
thin to machine out to this diameter, so custom spindles with a larger ID
would be in order. Again, 101 parts might come in handy.

I think Timm has an extremely promising product line and he's going to make
a killing in comparison to other specialized rover shops, but I don't buy
parts - I make them. I'm too poor to buy them, and I'd like to think
talented enough to build from scratch. Thanks for the suggestions, but no
    thanks.
