I looked into the dash piece on e-bay and nearly bought it myself even though
I'm now driving a P38A. It is NOS and as rare as they get, and at the price
he's asking you absolutely can't go wrong. I'd rather leather cover the rest of
the pieces and have an intact wood dash if you're worried about color matching.
I say leather cover because the likelihood is that your wood is cracking and
it's not just the finish. These pieces are made with a veneer that has a
tendency to crack and peel away from the substrate. My dash was actually
missing pieces so I was forced to remove the balance of the veneer with a blade
and recover the dash in glove leather. I did the same to the console.
