Fuel Oil # 2 (diesel) is great for lubricating the valves and top cylinder. When I learnt to drive
and got my first car it was standard practice to put a few litres of diesel in every so often
    (cheaper than Redex).

Fuel Oil # 1 (parrafin/kerosene) tends to wash out the ATF/oil in the dash pots on
Stromberg/SU carbs if you run the vehicle on pure parrafin/kerosene so you have to keep
topping up the dash pots. A few litres of methylated spirits also helps to lower (up?) the
octane count and make the vehicle start easier on the mix (it was either the Coleman lamp
starting fluid of the single malt, and I needed the single malt more than the Landy).
