    On my race car, after shaving the heads and installing 1.7:1 rockers
    on the intakes, I started pushing pushrods through the rocker arms. I
    opted for lash caps, caps that fit over the top of the valve stem to
    help restore the geometry. They stopped the carnage. I'm not sure if
    they would be cheaper than custom pushrods though.
