I really hate to think of myself as an old bastard but the main reason for
the bump to F150, C15, D150, etc. was emissions related. half ton trucks
were treated as cars and smothered in pollution control devices but anything
larger was unregulated at the time. slightly stiffer rear springs and some
new badges and the horsepower was saved. (temporarily) Mark Love
