Okay, I just talked with the local supplier of Dupont and this whole
painting thing just got lots more complicated. I was planning on slightly
more than 1 gallon of top coat (Bronze Green Centari). In addition I was
expecting a little less for primer, two coats. When I talked to the
salesman he suggested an epoxy primer called DTM (direct to metal). He also
said I need another product called Activator (hardener). What blew me away
was the price of it all. The DTM costs almost $160 CDN/gallon, Centari is
$120/gallon, Activator is $64 and I still need to buy a reducer for the
paint so I can spray it! Oh, and that doesn't include stripping anything...
dang, I think the faded and peeling blue isn't so bad.
