Heh, heh, heh. It is an old school trip odometer, to reset you need to
twist the knurled knob (I cant recall whether it is clockwise or counter
clockwise) and cycle through all of the numbers until you get around to 0's.
On mine it has a fair amount of resistance. It is slaved off of the
speedometer gauge and therefore gets the same input from the regular speedo
cable.
