Not unless the gearbox is overfull and the shaft seals NG.
If the seals are bad they will tend to chuck oil, though.

Not necessarily - if you have a blocked vent or the like it
could cause symptoms of this nature. Shaft seals are cheap
- wash the box down good and change 'em.
