I got a builders title once on a vehicle I salvaged from a junkyard. It was
an NSU 1200C. After I got it running, A Highway Patrolman had to come out and
look at it and my receipts, and sign off. Coupla weeks later I got a title,
with the serial number starting SCHD (South Carolina highway department).
That was in '77.
