    If you have the urge to work on an engine, acquire a second hand one,
    and then rebuild it at your leisure. That way, you can get all
    seriously fiddly with it, enjoy driving your Land-Rover, and then
    when your done (or sometime later, at need), put the new engine in.
    Waiting until the current engine dies to do the swap will allow you
    to need less willpower to just stick the new engine in, and not
    decide to replace every bolt and line all the screw slots up.
