Last month I "winterised" The V8 Landy Series II by putting the doors and hardtop
on. I went the extra mile and took a lot of time replacing bad rubber seals
everywhere. Then, with eveything positioned right and sealed as the factory
intended, I went even further and silconed up all the cracks and gaps and holes
inside and out and even fitted grommets in all the holes in the firewall where
unknown cables and wires should, or used to, come through. I then fine sanded
the door latch slam plates and faces and lightly greased them so all the doors
shut with the minimum of effort. It is so good, that my ears pop when the last
door closes and if I drove it into a lake, by God, I think it would
    float...maybe!
I also noticed that the stereo is only on volume 45 now and not 52 so make it
audiable at freeway speeds. 60 is max!
The best thing of all is that I replaced the heater control valve on the
Kodiak so that it can be turned fully off and not bake me right out of my
airtight cabin and now it is excellent. The part was $22 from the local parts
store and I swear it was made for Land Rovers it fit so well. It took 2 miniutes
to change and nothing had to be adjusted.
The next thing is to try to make the "arc of influence" of the wipers more
    than 25 degrees.!
Today it is going to be only 68 Brrrrrrr, so I am glad that I did all
    this!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Kind regards,
    Mark Pilkington
