    I was planning to do the same thing but someone told me that If you
    drill out the rivets on the tropical roof sun sheet you will have to
    remove the bits that fall inside the channels..only way to do that would
    be to cut holes in the end of the channels on top near the rear door.
    you would then have to have these holes filled /re welded somehow
      I th9nk you would be better off to clean the goop of the top leaving
    the sunsheet intact..spot sand/prime with etch primer and then shoot the
    paint under the sunsheet and don't worry about it...
    thats what I did and the results were great
