Nice to see someone else showing their age!! I remember the Imps at
Brands too. A nice little all aluminium engine based on the Coventry
Climax. Single OHC and someone whose name I can't recall made a DOHC
head for them too. Quite a potent little beast when driven "in anger"

To shield the heat? Seriously, without it you'll notice that things get a
little hotter around your feet and the engine compartment. I left mine off
once and burned the rubber around the speedo cable!

Right hand frame rail, right where the tire will throw up all
sorts of stuff... If you *really* want to fix it, run a ground wire from
the battery all the way back to all the lights. Solves all sorts of
problems.

I need a left wing for a Series III. If you have a spare that you would be
willing to part with drop me a message. I'm in Pittsburgh Pa. but shipping
is not a problem.

I have the PH# for these folks but was wondering if someone on the list who
has done this conversion could let me know how easy/difficult a job is it?
How much improvement does the Chevy 6 provide? General ups and downs to
the whole thing??

Thanks..

P.S. To those of you who know me, NO the chevy is not going into the pig.
This is for a friend with a 109sw without net access.

Having seen and read several reports on the Chevy 6 conversion and
spoken to the master Scotty himself, the ideal transplant is the
4 cyl Iron Duke. This engine provides plenty of Hp for the 109 and
does not require the multitude of modifications that the longer 6 cyl
does, ie not moving the radiator forward, chopping the firewall, etc.

Hopefully someone out there in Rover World knows the automotive "trade
number" for the screw base lamp bulb used in the various dash bulb
locations of the "67 IIA. Are they all the same bulb??

Appreciate your assistance in advance----

Peter, leave it off! The heat shield seems to weaken the exhaust man. and
it breaks around the fastening points.

Steve, if your engine is knocked-up just wait awhile and you'll have an
engine, maybe the little engine that could.8^).
If you need an engine for sure e-mail me personally, I maybe able to help.

Subject: Christmas Present

I have just taken delivery of my 87 90 Turbo Diesel.

I have been used to driving my 109 series III 2.25 diesel and I have to say that
there is a huge difference.

I have to congratulate Landrover for the progress done.

Any one has had similar experience.??

Also I have the above Series III for sale now. (I would like to keep both but
my financial situation restricts me to one!!) Any one interested!!!

Happy New year to all.

Thanks
Geoffrey
