Essentially correct - the issue being that a CV joint is
open and can pick up lube from its surroundings, where a
traditional Hardy-Spicer type U-joint won't be as able to
do so (though it can with 90-weight because of the lower
viscosity).
Personal opinion - keep a decent set of swivel seals on the
ball joints and you don't need to use the semi-liquid
grease. LR brought that stuff out when the yuppies started
buying Range Rovers and didn't like the "messy" swivels
from the seeping EP90.
I run EP90 in my Range Rovers as well - having seen the
mess that the semi-liquid grease can make of the bearings
in a swivel I want something that will flow easily in New
England WInter temperatures (and the semi-liquid grease
doesn;t do so...).
