That NV 4500 seen on the bench is/was mine. It is a spendy, long heavy
thing. I was going with a four speed for my diesel conversion (cummins
3.4liter, 6at, NV4500, rebuilt rover t case with ashcroft upgrade and
salisbury rear), but even with an ashcroft kit, I was a little worried about
top end speed and revs on the diesel. Researched a bit and talked to Timm
intially about the NV 3550 but concluded it was not up to the torque, so
went with the 4500. AA is right there, so Timm and Matt have that going for
them. I think I got the transmission and adapter for 2k. Five gears and a
cast iron case, with available PTO. IIRC, I'll end up with a final drive
ratio of 2.90 to 1 (??), but its been a while since I thought about it and I
don't have the gear ratio stuff here in front of me. I believe its rated to
    410 lb feet of torque.

I went for it because I figured while I'm at it I might as well have
something bulletproof and easily adaptable to another engine if I choose to
dump the oil burner someday. I think its the perfect transmission for a
109, but it might be a bit of overkill for anything less than a diesel or a
v-8. I know from talking to matt yesterday that some work has yet to be
done in getting some shafts together to fit together my drivetrain. So if
you are thinking you can call them up and have this stuff UPS'd to you next
week, that isn't going to happen. Maybe in a coupla months though.

Now you guys leave Timm and Matt alone so they can finish working on my
truck!! Mark Pilkington's is now finished, I understand. I want mine back
soon enough to get the body back on and electrics completed for the Portland
    ABFM!!!!

    Simon
