Maybe it is the tires but I had this notion that my rover would be velocity limited by the transmission, hence the need for overdrives, which I have. The fact is though that I can slowly accelerate to about 30-35 mph in third and dont; accerate mutch inb fourth, maybe I can get the beast up to 50 in 3rd and a half, but this all seems very slow and wrong. Some feed back on what I should be expecting would be very helpfull, as if I am just being unrealistic then i won't spend money on taking it to the shop to be looked at. Any thoughts? I thought I would be able to get her up to 60 maybe 70 with the big tires. Either I am crazy or there is a problem.

I never had any problems with 31" tires getting to 55, I never tried to
go faster. This was on an engine that I later found out had only about
85 compression in the rear two cylinders. Don't know what 2" taller
    would have done.
