    I know this is a real amateurish thing to suggest, but what about
    lubrication?
    You mentioned it gets worse in the cold, could it be that whatever is in
    there as lube is getting thick and blocking up the system?
    IIRC there are sliding dogs and stuff in there, a grungy layer of treacly
    lube could be making everything stiff?
    I've not got my books to hand but do the manuals recommend something
    different to EP90 in cold weather?
    (Is that the record for consecutive questions in a list post?, is this one
    adding to it? Am I going mad?)
