Just wanted to thank everyone for the advice.
My new red top has surprised me. I believe the engine has never spun faster
in cold weather. I did some light winching on it (don't have a 2nd yellow
top yet) and it pulled very strongly. I'm very impressed with the power this
thing puts out, the lights seem brighter and whiter, too.
