I had a similar experience with my current Zenith, but only upon turning
right. It seems that the cross-shaft for the float consists of much harder
brass than the float itself. Consequently, elongated or eliptical holes
get worn in the float leading to erratic float movements when other than
straight and level. Mine would slosh too much fuel down the carb throat
and the engine would choke off. A used, replacement float cured the problem.
