I have been using plastic strapping material from a bander. I've also used
a length of wire to attach springs to posts.
Hook one end of the spring in place.
Loop the wire/banding in half and snake it through where ever to get a
straight line pull.
Hook the free end of the spring with the loop of wire/banding.
Pull the spring into postion and attach to the post.
Release one side of the wire/banding and pull free.
