Per the suggestion that more frequent postings will forstall "Lurkers Disease", here's an up date on my progress.

Today the shop was closed so had it all to myself (except for a few diehards who banged on the door long enough to get my attention!)

The solvent tank and the bead blaster got a workout today. Did the oil filter can, oil filler tube, thermostat housing, alternator mount and various brackets in glossy black. Manifolds got seperated and painted in Hi Temp silver (got stinky in the shop whilst baking the manifolds at 600 degress-and those suckers stay HOT for a long time!)

Aluminum parts (oil filter top and distributor adapter) got wire brushed and hit with the 240 grit polishing wheel-as did the oil filler cap. May get froggy and polish up the valve cover....

The 'New" engine had the alternator bracket bolt broken off in the block; spent about a hour drilling that out. The head on this engine had the front most thermostat housing bolt hole broken; Had a stud welded on when the head was at the machine shop, but they fitted a stud that was too short. So plans for manana (inbetwixt customers guns) are fixing that and fitting the distributor drive.

Will try and remember to bring the camera into the shop manana, take some pics and post them. Stay tuned!
