Contrary to thinking of the past it is now thought to be more advantages
to ignore the size of the intake gasket and just align the port to the
intake. If the gasket is larger then the ports, leave the posts the size
they are, only remove enough metal to align with intake. Maybe just
slightly round the corner of the port entrance. Or better yet make a new
gasket the same size as the aligned ports. Enlarging the ports to match
the gasket slows the flow and can cause coalescences. the loss in energy
and fuel fall out can more then make up for any gain you might get from
decreased turbulence.
