    Go to the US Paint website www.uspaint.com and look at the options for
    steel hulled boats under the Awlgrip line. They make an epoxy based
    chromate primer that goes under their epoxy topcoats. If you want a
    tough finish, it's the only way to go.
    If you are doing it yourself, the caveat is to use a damn good stirrer,
    since the primers have so much solids in them, they're like mud when
    they come off the shelf. Keep lots of reducer on hand and wear a mask,
    even if you are brushing.
