Teri-Ann's post started me thinking (Lord save us). If the rock slider was
equipped with a series of rollers set inside the U channel and a belt was
fitted around said rollers then instead of sliding one could roll gracefully
across the rocks. The next iteration being to apply power to the rollers and
make it into a mini tank track. One of those supermarket roller conveyors
could provide all the parts needed for the basic version.
