North woods expedition to Dead Horse Maine T14 R10--WELS. Date: 24-27 May 1996. Dead Horse Gulch , in Maine's isolated North Woods, is accessible by private roads and by special permission only. The various routes will not be pre-scouted; the success of the expedition will depend on the skill, preparedness and creativity of the participants. Location: T14 R10 --WELS is roughly 5 hours north of Waterville in Aroostook County. Staging area and " Hudson Bay Start" Camp-out will be in Unity Me. Itinerary: 24 Fri. May 96 1800 Optional "Hudson Bay Start" camp out (To discover oversights in packing.) 25 May 96 1000 Late comers assemble at staging area. 27 May 96 1200 head back to staging area or other points of your choosing. Recommended Items: Tents/Camping gear Chainsaw, bow saw or axe.
