All of this talk about performance tweaks has me thinking about one of our
other Rovers, my '72 Ex-MoD Series III. It's still running with the
original 5 main bearing 2.25L Petrol engine. The only modification to date
has been the addition of a two-barrel Weber carb. Problem is that even with
that, it still feels anemic. Down the road I plan on doing a V8 conversion
for it, but until then, I'm trying to see where my best bang for the buck is
in increasing the performance of of this particular Rover.
I was considering going with the Turner cylider heads (I'm getting tired of
adding lead substitute anyway) but wanted to see what thoughts the rest of
you folks had.
In other news, still working on the wife's stalling prob on her SIIA 88...
And now the 101FC is on the blocks for a replacement front diff cover
(waiting for new diff guards to come in so I can do all of the work at
once), and with the 109's carb on the bench and it's battery out for
replacement... We're once again at 1 for 4 on 'Operational Rovers' (the wife
still has custody of the 2003 Disco pending the revival of her 88)
