    Not too Land Rover related, but as a teenager I lived in Frankfurt a/m. I
    remember one day seeing a car from Furth (I believe) that was FU ** ###. Had a
    good laugh. I suppose that is juvenile, but that's what I was then.

    My Land Rover is a Land Rover :)

    And the German prefixes often make sense regarding the city. The French
    system is by department (I guess equivalent of county in the UK). They are
    number alphabetically. They use the same thing for postal codes - hence the
    connection.
